Xmeye admin password reset13.10.2020
Forgot your password? It has H. I have tried to gain access via root as the box is running telnet but I don't know the root password I have tried xc but this doesn't work.
I have also tried the following programs, SuperPassword. I have tried removing the battery in the hope that this would do something more than just lose the time on the box but sadly this is all it did the password still remained in effect. I can get into the unit with the guest login and no password, but this give me no rights to anything I cant playback the video from yesterday or do anything but view.
I've put some links to some pictures of the equipment in the hope someone has any further suggestions. I've attached a picture of the login screen as requested, it shows the time in the top left corner of the screen, the cameras aren't currently connected to the box, and the hard drive isn't connected either as I was worried it would overwrite the video that I am needing to access.
I've tried with a blank password if thats what you was meaning for me to read? This didn't work as the password has been changed. I can't remember what it was changed to. If i was able to get another unit that was exactly the same as the one I have that didn't have any admin password i.
It certainly looks similar in terms of hardware, however the software that is running on the box is different. I have since been able to access the dvr and have removed the password, thank you very much for your time and considerable effort to help me out of my situation.
Sadly it seems my cameras or this DVR aren't that great at showing the number plates on cars when the cameras are on infrared the headlights hide the number plate. For example: If the date shows on the DVR screen.
Then its super password is You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy! Already have an account? Sign in here. Digital Video Recorders. Search In. Existing user? Sign in anonymously. Recommended Posts.

Perhaps your DVR is here There are software that can generate password for some DVRs to allow administrator access, you just need to enter the current date that appears on your DVR and click OK to get the new password. Several companies buy unbranded Chinese DVRs and put their own brand, so when you turn the equipment on you can see that the DVR's menu is similar to the ones used by generic DVRs because they use the same chip.
If your DVR has a login screen like the one in the picture, it probably uses the chip that works with the DVR password generator. There is no need to connect the DVR to the computer, just run the software on your computer, look at the DVR screen to see the date and time and use it in the password generator software. Keep in mind that DVR password generators will work only with specific chip models, obviously not suitable for all models in the market.Forgetting the admin password turns to be a nightmare for the users.

I have a DVR shown below and I am not able to reset the system to the factory default. It is an 8 ch standalone, unbranded, no make or model codes, just states H DVR and the specifications listed below. Tried all different passwords, without any success.
I took out the board battery for a few minutes and it has reset the time etc, but it is still looking for Admin password. You seem to be up the creek without a paddle. Don't waste your time, find the nearest dumpster and place the DVR in it. For the price of a replacement these days, it's more convenient than having an inaccessible piece of generic Chinese Junk. Your question is one I regularly get asked by people who have bought DVR equipment cheap under questionable circumstances.
Thats rather the point of having a password, to protect from unauthorized users. Once in create another admin account under manage in menu Once that is done then go back to dvr log in with your new account and delete all old ones.
Thanks, I would like to know if the DVR can be reformatted with an updated firmware? If someone stole your DVR would you ask us to help them get past your password? I have a H. Edited January 26, by Guest. When security experts start hunting, it usually doesn't take them long to unearth worrying findings related to internet of things manufacturers and devices.
The industry has been operating on a s-era security stance for so long that there's still plenty of low-hanging fruit see FTC vs. The latest finding relates to Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology, the Chinese manufacturer that in late October partially recalled webcams that had been taken over by hackers and used in massive distributed denial-of-services attacks. The finding came - perhaps surprisingly - via LinkedIn. Ken Munro of U. The passwords may unlock an application called XMEye, which is a cloud-based service for remotely accessing DVR video streams.
The list contains a new password for every day oforganized by month. The passwords definitely work for users via XMEye's local web interface, Munro tells me. It's unclear if the passwords will work remotely, but his company is planning a tried-and-true check: Munro has ordered a DVR under a different brand name to put to the test. The list published to LinkedIn only contains passwords, but Pen Test Partners has already discovered the username that works with all of them.
Unsurprisingly, it's "default. In another twist, it appears that the passwords will work regardless of the date on which they're used, Munro says.
'Super User' Password List May Allow Access to Webcams
Having a daily changing su password for your customers DVRs in is all very clever, until the pwd list leaks securitybyobscurity pic. The pool of at-risk devices could be large, Munro says.
The challenge will be working out which devices - likely under a variety of brand names - use the XMEye software. One explanation for building such hard-coded passwords into an application might be to have enabled remote support device by personnel who install the devices. Munro says CCTV installers will likely not be qualified network security experts. Munro adds that Pen Test Partners has previously found serious errors in similar products such as "DVR and house alarm installers that have port forwarded through a customer's router, compromising their security.
For now, however, the jury is out on just how bad or extensive this problem might be. Xiongmai officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
If the password leak is authentic, it would represent another embarrassment for the company, which was one of several vendors blamed for enabling record-breaking distributed denial-of-services attacks. The Chinese company makes components that other manufacturers put into their cameras and video systems. Xiongmai's circuit boards come with pre-installed firmware, which was the source of the problems. The firmware shipped with telnet, a remote access tool, was enabled by default with weak, known passwords.
To take over the devices, hackers merely scanned the internet for devices that responded and installed the Mirai malware. In September, a large number of Mirai-infected devices were instructed to bombard computer security writer Brian Krebs' website and French hosting provider OVH, notching some of the largest-ever DDoS attacks.
Xiongmai acknowledged in October that Mirai was a huge disaster for the internet of things. The company released new firmware that would, among other things, require people to change default authentication credentials. Experts estimated in the wake of the DDoS attacks that more thandevices worldwide used vulnerable Xiongmai firmware. But the company initiated a product recall that only applied to less than 10, products sold in the United States see Mirai Aftermath: China's Xiongmai Details Webcam Recall.

Login name. Remember me. If an account gets locked how can it be unlocked? The only way I've found is to restart the DVR. If you know the password that is the best way to do it on your own. If you still cannot get in you would need in to call to verify ownership and then we can provide a code to unlock the unit.
Keep in mind if you are trying to access these units with PSS software, the software only successfully accepts 8 characters. Okay, so if an account gets locked by someone entering the wrong password the only way to unlock the account is to restart the DVR? I know the correct password I just had a customer try the wrong one a few times which locked the account. I had another account setup so I just got in and restarted the DVR which worked but was wondering if there was another way to unlock an account if you can login using another admin account.
The best way would be to wait the 30 minutes and then input the proper password. If you want can also create multiple admin accounts so if one of them gets locked, you can still get in through one of the secondary accounts. Just make sure those accounts are only accessed by one person so that this DVR isn't less secure by having multiple people with admin access. You can disconnect the DVR from the network first. Then reboot the unit while unplugged from the network.
After the unit reboots the try to login using the mouse right on front of the DVR. I you are able to access it then some computers or phone apps have the wrong password. Just FYI, your account will continue to be get locked if you do not change the password on those devices trying to access the unit.

There's nowhere on the web a decent page where you can get a manual and Aspen seems to be based in India although your DVR mentions it's made in Korea Am pinging a few colleagues in India if they can dig up something Edit: got a colleague that lives not to far from the company he's going to have a chat with them and see what to come up with.
Give me 48hrs pls.
That CN8 Connector 8 I suspect header looks more like a connector for an external switch or output such as an LED, rather than a jumper connector as it has enclosed sides. I wouldn't advise shorting it with a jumper as you don't know if it's putting out voltage, you could damage the board. I suspect it's also sold as a re-badged unit under other names, but someone on there should recognise it.
Failing that I can ask a security contact of mine for you, but I wouldn't hear back from him for a few days. I was hoping it would be on the HD, a couple of our DVRs are setup this way, they have a system partition which the OS runs from, on the main drive.
Upside of it is you can modify things like password files, downside is if the HD dies, you have to reinitialise the DVR from the setup software Do you still have the proof of purchase papers from it?
If so don't throw them but keep them at hand. You might need them to get assistance if i can find the right person to talk to for your area. Try contacting the manufacturer directly or posting a pic of it in that CCTV forum, links in my other post above. Those guys seem to be good at identifying obscure models and many will have installed them so may know the reset procedure.
If you can't reach the manufacturer, can you find out if a local security company installed it? In our case, a local security company installed the DVR's, and they have their own admin account and password that can be removed.
Edit: Sorry, just read where you contacted the company you bought it from, so the above suggestion will not help. I went back and looked at the manual for our DVR's. In our case, factory default settings are blank for the user ID and password fields. I found no way of resetting the DVRs to defaults. You may need it to prove you are the legal owner of the DVR and thus have the right to see its contents.
